The Brit continues to fight for the podium

MV Agusta Reparto Corse’s Leon Camier finished fourth, for a fourth time this season in Race 2 at the Fassi French Round.

Race one saw the Brit put on a brilliant performance to lead for seven laps before his tires eventually let him down to finish and he finished in seventh. When the lights went out on Sunday, Camier got a great start and spent the race fighting Honda World Superbike Team’s Michael van der Mark for fourth place, adding 13 points to his overall championship standing in the top ten.

“I am really happy with this result,” said Camier. “I didn’t expect to be so fast in dry conditions to be honest, but today I found a good feeling with the bike and I was able to always stay with the front riders. I want to thank my team for the great job on my bike. Every race we become stronger and stronger and we are now constantly fighting for the podium.”

The Brit now heads to the south of Spain to Jerez, which will host Round 12 of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship. With his sights still set on a podium Camier said, “For the future I think it is possibile to get close to the podium again and bridge the gap to the leaders. I’m looking forward to Jerez, I think it will be not bad for us and the aim is still to get on the podium. But I think Qatar could be a difficult one, but regardless I’m ready to fight and we’ll try out best.”
